Is everyone loving the new season of Heroes? Is this the first time you’re seeing it or are you just as hooked as I am? I noticed last night that Kristen Bell, aka Veronica Mars and the newest “electrifying” character on Heroes - Elle, was talking on the product placed Sprint phone last night. I honestly couldn’t tell what phone, mostly because I think it was a basic clamshell variety. What was bad about this product placement, however, was that Elle was looking for Peter Petrelli in IRELAND!
Isn’t this show focused at the geeks? I’m sure this isn’t the only anomaly on a show like this. I know there have been numerous on Star Trek throughout it’s illustrious running.
It’s probably a safe assumption that Sprint likely knew nothing about where the product placement was, and just as unlikely that the director would never think that a Sprint phone would never work in Ireland. At least they didn’t include an iPhone, I suppose.
Speaking of Heroes, Amazon.com is celebrating a new Hi-Def 101 store and you can enter to win a cool promotional Heroes package that will be given to three lucky winners a day from October 15 – November 15th. The Hi-Def store is a new resource that will be updated frequently to help clear up confusion with High Definition.
The package includes:
· Exclusive Heroes silkscreened Xbox 360 Premium consoles
· HD-DVD Accessory for Xbox 360
· Heroes Season One on HD-DVD
There is no purchase required but only one entry per person as long as they have a valid Amazon account (no purchase required for that either) but as I’ve found it’s a great way to put my wish list up there so my family knows exactly what I want for birthdays or Christmas.

What shows are you looking forward to in the new fall TV season?
Is there any doubt that it will be HEROES!!!!!???? :) I recently purchased Heroes, Season 1 on DVD and have yet to crack them open - I'm wating for the right moment but there were a few episodes that I missed in the beginning. I came into a few episodes too late. I blame that on Monday evening practices.
I'm somewhat of a TV junkie, just because when I get home from work or practice, sometimes I just want to vegitate. I'm working my head all day, so sitting down and letting myself not think for a few hours a night is great. Although recently I'm finding I'm getting restless. Probably because I've been taking a little break from roller derby to relax before I jump fully back in. It's almost time though cause I've got to get ready for next season.
On other TV shows, there's the one I think it's called Moonlight? it's about what I can discern a crime-fighting vampire..... Yeah, a new concept I know but I LOVE any vampire movies or shows. I loved Buffy, of course I loved Angel even more, I'm still fighting the urge to buy those series. And I try to watch every vampire movie ever, actually it's been a goal of mine to build the most awesome vampire movie collection ever. Um, I'm still kind of working on that. If you have any suggestions - older b-movies especially - would love to hear about 'em!
I guess I'm just a little batty :)
I saw the below picture on ArsGeek and really had to laugh. You have to wonder if this an ironic circumstance that fell into place, or if there was some prior planning. I would like to think it was the latter because that makes me smile even more.
Speaking of ArsGeek, they are actually embarking on what's truly a heroic effort. They are trying to get a little boy, who is a hero in his own right, to New York to make a dream come true to meet his superheroes at Comic Con in 2008. Jonathan was born with spactic quadriplegia cerebral palsy and has spent his life in a wheelchare. Although his mind is that of a regular 15 year old boy, he's unable to utilize his body and has difficulty speaking.
As ArsGeek story goes, Jonathan has enriched his life through the idea of superheroes which has helped him get through some very rough times, like 13 surgeries he's had to deal with over his lifetime.
ArsGeek is seeking to fund Jonathan's trip to Comic Con and they have a list of items they need to help with this endeavor.
In case you missed that link, http://www.arsgeek.com/?p=2442 where you can donate money via paypal, send encouraging words or keep up with the progress of getting him to Comic Con. This is one of the key things talked about duing Gnomedex - about going online for goodness. I wonder how many Stacy dollars you would get from sending Jonathan to Comic Con.
